I am new to digital video, and I recently installed an ATI AIW Radeon 9600, and I have no trouble capturing in MPEG2. The version of MMC I am using is 8.8.
I read your article "Capturing AVI on ATI" and I would like to try the example you gave. However, I when I tried to map a new AVI preset, I did not see "Huffyuv .." as an option in the dropdown list for codecs. Is the Huffy codec an external codec that I have to add? You mentioned that some of these codecs don't come with the card, and should be downloaded. However, once I DL the codec, how do I add it to the codec list so that I can select it from the configuration dropdown list? Tony Lin Fremont, CA |
ATI MMC does not really come with codecs. You install them separately. If you re-check the first part of the AVI guide (Getting Started section, item #4), it has the HuffYUV codec for download. It's a very small file, just unzip it and install it.
The codecs add themselves system-wide. Reboot (or logoff) the PC and ATI MMC will auto-find it when you next launch it. |
Got it. Thanks
