Audio-video desyncing due to insert frames?
2 Attachment(s)
I've been having problems with recording with Virtualdub with the new setup I just bought myself. Got a
Pinnacle 710 usb (Bought from LS) and a JVC HR-S9600EU. Been trying to figure out ways and even did a bit of digging around in the forums to see if anything would help but haven't found what I've been looking for. Attachment 14672 Anyways, this is the settings I have. Attachment 14673 I do also have a few separate questions that I'm thinking about trying but want to know if this could work. Would it be a good idea to use a different device to record the audio input? (For Example the Audio Jack port on the Desktop) and would a External TBC would fix this issue? PC Specs: OS: Windows 10 64bit Home RAM: 32GB GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 2070 Super CPU: Intel I9-10980XE Thanks! |
Are you capturing to the OS drive? Or a 2nd dedicated capture drive?

A separate drive as of that post above. Since I thought that would work but didn't. Still got insert frames. Had no drop frames at all which is weird.

Why did you choose do not resync? That's part of the problem here. Choose resample. You need to watch the +/- as it records, see if ms is high (over about 3ms) at any time.
But yes, the main issue is lack of frame TBC. Note that even if you no longer see sync issues, without the frame TBC, you'll just get pitch changes (chipmunk/helium, and drunkard/BarryWhite). |
Had a feeling it had something to do with a External TBC since I was speaking to TheStarSwitcher about it. Yeah, we was discussing the resample setting and as you said the pitch changes is the problem with that.

Yep, that's probably it. Time for a TBC. Everybody tries to avoid it (the costs), but it's an essential unavoidable piece of gear. I certainly don't own TBCs because of the fun factor. Boring boxes with wires in/out isn't my idea of fun. Too bad TBCs don't transform into Optimus Prime.

Would be nice if they did definitely! I'm probably going to put money aside to get a TBC but probably will take awhile.
