Hello,

I didn't want to revive an old thread but I wonder if there was any reason why that model hasn't been enrolled on the list of recommended units? Of course the question is related to possibility to buy one of such units for about 150 EUR. Will be grateful for any information :-)

Yeah was released together with the 7600 and 9600, not sure why it's not added to the list. Think the US 7600 is similar, while the PAL 7600 is simpler with no dynamic drum, JVC didn't use the 8xxx numbers for the US models.

I got the Hr-s8600 ms (so pal secam/mesecam/ ntsc, french model), the eu might have the same features (dynamic drum, digipure, manual tracking) best vcr i have if you ask me for retail tapes. For ep tapes a bit tricky.

I have found a following table in the sevice manual, seems that differences between 8600 and 9600 are minor?

OK, I only want to capture home video, so everything is SP. What remains is to judge the health of the unit, visually it shows signs of tough life...
