I-O Data GV-USB2 eBay sellers legit?
 

For example on this listing it says in the description:-
[ Country of Manufacture ]
If "Made in Japan" is NOT described on whole listing page,
Items are manufactured in other country (China, Vietnam and etc.).
That strikes me as an odd thing to write since the seller is based in Japan, and I thought I read here somewhere that GV-USB2 is manufactured in Japan. Another listing on Ebay shows the boxed item and I can see Made in Taiwan on the box. The official I-O site does not seem to list the device any more that I can see, but has some 4K hdmi/usb device instead, so I'm just trying to check that I am not about to buy a dud. Are there any recommended sources ? Many thanks.

The one I have also says "Made in Taiwan" on it, don't remember if I ordered it off amazon or ebay but I don't see why it shouldn't be genuine. It says "made in Taiwan" on it. I think it's just the company branding/selling them that is japanese. Can't find it right now but someone in another thread here or on videohelp linked to what seemed like a generic version of it so maybe it's an OEM design they have customized and it could be that they are other variants with the same internals.

It's the real McCoy (I think!); that means it's the real thing. As Hodgey says, it has 'made in Taiwan" on it, together with a serial number.
