Wide vertical green-tinted bars on VHS captures?

2 Attachment(s)
Wondering if anyone has experienced rather large lighter/darker green tinged vertical columns to the left of the VHS capture image?

Setup:

JVC SR-VS30U straight into AGP AIW 9000 Pro via composite. Tape was recorded from TV a long time ago in EP mode.

Two examples with bright and dark lighting are attached. It is constantly present, but more or less noticeable depending on brightness/colors in the scene.

Wondering what this is called so I can do some research on how to reduce or eliminate it.

If it is something to do with head switching noise (seems a bit far into the image to be that) or something that otherwise cannot be eliminated, that would be very useful to know as well so I don't waste time on it.

Thanks in advance!

That's on the source tape, in the overscan. You never saw it on TV, due to overscan, but it was always there, from the moment it was shot/recorded.

I get the far left part is in the overscan area, the faint green vertical bars I'm seeing are marked by the red "H" looking thing which defines the borders - those kind of go about 1/4 into the image that would be visible past the overscan. Could still be that the tape is encoded that way, just not sure what I'd call those bars when trying to reduce them later.

Any other ideas on what they are or if anyone else has them on their tapes?

Thanks in advance!
