Captured VHS video is cropped?
 

Hello everyone, I have several VHS tapes to digitize, they are in very good condition and overall the digitizing seems to be going well but I've realized something that is more obvious when there are titles/writings in the captured videos: the footage is cropped on the right side and at the bottom (just like if the video itself was larger than the capture, so I would have the right and bottom parts outside of the frame).
I have attached a screen capture that illustrates the issue, as you can see the text is cropped.
I have also attached an image of the device I'm using to capture the video and for the software I use WinAVI Video Capture (which was recommended with the device).
I have tried all the options in the software and on the VCR and nothing seems to work, and it's the same on all the VHS tapes I've tried.

I'm really stuck here and I don't know that much about video capture anyway so if someone could help me, I would greatly appreciate it!

You're using one of the worst capture devices ever made, the cheap $2 Chinese Easycap (aka Easycrap). It's junk, with al sorts of quality and usage problems.

If you're using any "included" software on the install disc, that makes it even worse.

Simply using a better capture card will likely resolve that issue (and several others).

Try vdub, if it's still cropped it's a defective or badly designed capture stick, That's expected for a $7 sold on Amazon capture device that often priced at $30 unfortunately by other sellers to look like a legit device.

Wow... an EasyCrap. Don't use this capture card.
