Pinnacle Studio 700 PCI Card worth keeping?
 

Hi all!

This is my first post here, as this might be the best place to ask for advice.
I got an old computer with a (according to Google) Pinnacle Studio 700 PCI card, on the card it says: "pinnacle systems bigben-51015544".
I don't have any software or connectors for it. I can get the breakout box for around €50, but I'm not sure if it's worth it, as one of the first things I read was they should be avoided.
I would use it to digitize Hi8 tapes directly from my camcorder (S-video) and VHS tapes (JVC HR-J468EU). I also got access to a decent Windows 98 and XP system, so I don't mind using those if it means better compatibility. Would it be worth to spend some money on this to get it working?
