Pinnacle 710-USB?
IMO £250 is a ripoff for the 710, unless you got ripped off when you bought it. For that money (or close to it), you could buy a very good S-VHS VCR from VCRShop.
For me, the 710-USB initially worked (after many dramas) on Win 10 but is now dead on Win 10 and 11, apart from the DV over USB function. In any case, it's nothing special, on a par with the GV-USB2, which works without issue on Win 10 and 11. |
Maybe, maybe not.
There are bad/wrong versions of this card. And prices literally jump into the $300 range at times. Most others have Win10/11 success. There's only a few reports of failures, and it's very dependent on the other hardware in the system. I've only run into it once, and it was a Chinese mini PC system that balked. I disagree the GV-USB2 is a better card, but it's not a terrible card either. I'm neutral on it. Be careful about proclaiming cards "always work" (or "works without issue") in Win10/11. Time has a way of making that a false statement. |
I’ve had no compatibility issues out of my Pinnacle.
I have read multiple times that capturing in windows 10 or 11 isn’t a good idea but I choose to do it anyways and it works for me. I keep my WiFi adapters off on my computer that I am capturing on. |
For Win, this helps: https://www.sphinx-soft.com/Vista/
Use v8 for XP. |
