ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0N install issues?

I've been attempting to use an ATI TV Wonder USB 2.0n to digitize several home-recorded NTSC VHS and 8mm tapes. I'm using a Panasonic AG-1970 SVHS deck and a Sony Digital8 Handycam for 8mm.

I originally hoped to dual boot Windows 10 64-bit and Windows XP 32-bit to make that work but quickly found that XP and modern motherboards go together like oil and water. So, I set up a virtual machine. I was able to install the ATI TV USB Wonder 2.0 drivers onto the VM and was able to get VirtualDub to realize what the device was, but was never able to get more than a solid green screen out of it (which I understand to mean "No-Signal" in VirtualDub).

My next course of action was to try installing ATI MMC. Though the installation of the TV app was successful, it only ever came up with the error "The TV player failed to initialize" before I could even get into the program. This led me to believe that the drivers may not have been installed at all, but device manager confirmed that the ATI TV USB Wonder 2.0 driver was installed and working. I attempted to find a driver specifically for the 2.0n, but all that ever turned up was a thread here with dead link: https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vid...tv-wonder.html

If anyone has access to the 2.0n drivers, I'd greatly appreciate a link to them. I'd also appreciate any insight from those running VMs regarding whether virtualization itself is somehow part of the problem.

Thank you for reading!

Video cannot be captured in a VM, bare metal required.

Drivers in this read, more recent pages: https://www.digitalFAQ.com/forum/vid...der-hacks.html

I see, I'll look into options for getting XP32 running on bare metal then. Thank you for the driver link as well!

Does the AIW TV Wonder USB 2.0n version allow MPEG encoding with MMC? For some reason I thought that one could only do lossless captures due to lacking a hardware encoder/coprocessor that the AGP/PCIE cards had or something?

Yes, MPEG, MMC. But must update to 8.x MMC.
