Huffyuv AVI files not recognised in Adobe Media Encoder?
Hi,
Captured an AVI with Virtual Dub with Huffyuv codec ( Windows 7 64 bit) However, when I try to convert in Adobe Media Encoder( AME) - Adobe Production Premiere only audio is encoded there is no image. Is there a codec issue with AME When I convert in Main Concept 2 it’s fine ? Cheers Tom |
Adobe hooks into system-wide codec installs only., nothing local (like VLC, some others).
It's not just AME, but anything Adobe. You need to install the official unpatched Huffyuv 32-bit codec into the 64-bit domain. (No, not the 64-bit codec, which silly enough only installs into the 32-bit domain. Also not the FFMPEG versions.) MainConcept is the same. See this post: https://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vid...html#post94709 I didn't link directly to it, because that thread has similar problems to yours, in case you need to read it. |

Hi LS, Thanks for the guidance, I will go over what I did earlier, I downloaded HUFFYUV from here, I followed the guidance from one of the links on the site ( created temp folder and copied to C drive SysWow64 and ran cmd command with copied code from guidance notes, looks like it didn’t work? |
The old page that you linked to has some versions of Huffy that aren’t ideal. If your using that link you want to use the version on top. That page was also made before Hoffmand’s installer. Now people recommend the 32 version and recommend Hoffmand’s installer. Hoffmand made it easier to install.
