PAL SP VHS to DV-AVI conversion?
 

Hello, I am an American in the St. Louis area with a foreign fiancée. She had exactly one PAL VHS videotape which she gave to me. The green tape box says Philips S 180, 3 hours. The tape itself says Samsung in the top left corner.

Though I've digitized many NTSC VHS tapes in the past, I have no equipment for digitizing PAL. I've looked at the approved VHS decks thread for PAL, but none were available on Ebay. In the past, I used a MiniDV camera for passthrough: S-video in, Firewire out. I kept the resulting .avi files (DV-AVI codec) without converting them.

I would like to have this same quality or better; I don't care about file size. Would you be able to help me find the right equipment for this, or perhaps someone on this website is able to convert this tape for me? Thank you!

If you're not in a rush, I'll do it. I generally avoid single-tape projects now, because the smallest projects tend to be the most impatient people. But I make exceptions. My PAL gear is on a dedicated setup, and sometimes it's idle.
