Recording stutters
1 Attachment(s)
My recording of an old VHS tape "stutters" (not sure what the exact term is) a lot when digitalizing.
I am using a Panasonic NV-HS860 (with in-line TBC enabled) -> VCAP800 USB (s-video/composite same problem) -> OBS/VirtualDub Viewing the VHS tape on my TV works fine, and running the s-video output to a Sony HandyCam TRV240E works fine as well (viewing on HandyCam screen). But when running through the capture device the video stutters like the attached example. Should I get another capture device like for example the Pinnacle 710 USB or perhaps IO-Data GV-USB2 or Hauppauge usb live 2. I am not looking for the best quality just something that doesn't stutter Thanks in advance :) |
Try to force the color system to PAL (if it's a pal tape) rather than AUTO, should be in the menu somewhere

I found the setting for "TV System" in the VCR and put it to PAL instead of AUTO but it doesn't really change anything.
(see attached picture) |
Try to connect your usb card to the best usb port. If it's a tower its on the back otherwise read the mobo manual
