Is this a nice Panasonic NV-HS950?

This is not a problem, so I maybe brake forum rules. ;)
But I found very nice Panasonic NV-HS950 in new condition (transport and original head cleaner (removed immediately of course) pictures can tell you most of this device, so this is really "grandfather deck" with all accessories, including remote, cables, etc. And original sticker). Very nice addition to my collection and it really works as it should! After very minor routine service before switch on. So I am proud I got it :) |
Looks like a nice machine, though it definitely isn't "new" given that the head cleaning wheel has some old tape residue on it. Still looks to be in very nice condition either way though.
Looks to use the same K mechanism as the AG1980 which is pretty reliable once refurbished correctly. The AG1980 doesn't claim to have 3D noise reduction though. There were a few Japanese NTSC machines that did have TBCs and a separate option to enable 3D NR though. For true 3D noise reduction, usually you'd have to buffer a full frame and compare the current frame to the previous frame to determine what is likely noise. True 3D noise reduction often will soften the image, so you might try disabling it to see if you notice a difference (if there's an option to disable the 3DNR - sometimes you can't enable/disable separately from the TBC). |
It's not new. Cosmetically excellent, yes. But that still doesn't mean much on Panasonics.
I agree, you made a great find. :congrats: |
