Captures are compressed to top of screen?
3 Attachment(s)
Hello all
I am pretty new to converting vhs to digital and have learned a ton from this forum. I did some searching and did not find a solution to an issue I am seeing. Randomly video seems to be compressed to the top when I playback with VLC media player. This is for the duration of the video. How do I resolve this issue? This is my setup: JVC HR-S7800S Datavideo TBC-1000 ATI Pro 128 Theater Rage VirtualDub 1.10.4 I will attach some screenshots below. I appreciate the help. |
Does this show up when you view the video file in VirtualDub or any other program?
Just to make sure it's not a VLC issue |
I tested playback with virtualdub and it did the same. I also tested on another pc and it did the same.

What are all of the exact capture settings?
Do not use VirtualDub 1.10.x to capture. This is a possible problem. Re-capture with 1.9.x Another possible issues is the ATI drivers are wrong. Those old 128 and 128 Pro cards can be a PITA to install, often requiring "hacking" (unconventional non-easy installs). That's why I haven't suggested these cards for years now. There are easier paths with ATI AIW. The root issue is 720x240 is being recorded in a 720x480 palette. |
