Why the question mark?
What are the different zip files? Please clarify.

It's fixed. :congrats:

I've not yet tried it, but will soon.

But I must note, for capturing, the non-CCE original Huffyuv is usually better. :hmm:

My question is what makes it different from hofmand's installers, that you don't need to launch it through a command prompt?

I mean, if it works then it works.

This is the new best easiest way to get Huffy! It’s easier than Hofmand’s installer.

I just installed it on windows 11.

The first download is the original 32 bit Huffy which should be used.

The second download is the CCESP patch which is a hacked version that was made to be compliant with the Cinema Craft Encoder which is an old Mpeg2 encoder. It shouldn’t be used.

With this installer you just click on the file and run it. You don’t have to go to command prompt or anything. Good job Darkeyes7777.

The only thing I don't get about it is why is the second link there since no one uses the CCESP 0.2.5 version?

Thank you!

yes, it do. Only double click on one file, and start the installation process.

Could you do that with the 64 bit version of Huffy? As far as I know people generally use the 64 bit and 32 bit versions of Huffy now. They need the 32 bit version for capture and the 64 bit version if they use a 64 bit version of Avisynth.

The 64-bit version is a different FourCC, with different issues. What you need to do is simply install the x86/32-bit version properly into x64/64-bit environments.

I wrote about this more in depth in a MainConcept Reference post several years ago.

I have accidentally installed the CCESP patch before and if you just try to run Hofmand’s installer and install the original 32 bit version of Huffy when you already have the CNESP version in won’t install the original Version of Huffy. It will just stay as the CCESP patched version with Hofmands msi installer. When I reinstalled windows 10 I lost my CCESP patch version so I used the correct one after but some people have to go through an uninstall process.
It's as simple as deleting huffyuv.dll from the system locations, then reinstall.

C:\Windows\System32 (64-bit location of the 32-bit Huffyuv DLL)
C:\Windows\SYSWoW64 (32-bit location of the 32-bit Huffyuv DLL)

And yes, Sys32 is 64-bit, and WoW64 is a 32-bit location. Perfect example of IT (computer nerds) doing things that don't make any sense. And/or lazy.

I tried out your .exe install and they are really easy to use! I used the installer for all 3 of the 32 bit codecs. I tried to install your other .exe for 64 bit from this post of yours and it did not work, and broke the 32 bit one. Maybe you have to do them in a different order? When I looked at the .inf files manually installing stuff the 32 and 64 were different. I could only get one or the other to work. (although I could get the 32 working and use the -mt 64 version and have both of those)

Eventually I went down the road of Hofmand's .msi installers and was able to get both 32 bit and 64 bit to work at the same time. Not as easy since you have to open a command w/admin but it worked.
