Blackmagic Intensity Extreme for Intel Macbook capturing?
Hi all, this is my first post, I have a 2019 16” Macbook Pro Intel 2.4 Ghz 8-core i9 running Sequoia.
I also have a Toshiba VCR and numerous tapes, a couple of VHS C tapes and a Sony Hi8 camcorder with a few tapes. I have connected this kit to an elderly Panasonic plasma TV and all is working correctly. I wanted to convert all the tapes to digital and did a bit of research (not enough!) and have ordered a Blackmagic Intensity Extreme capture card from ebay for £30 (due to arrive in a couple of days) However, a bit of trawling through sites like this forum suggests that the card will not work with Sequoia. I already had a thunderbolt cable and adapter from previous kit. I also have a Macbook Air that has been replaced because its battery was US, but works fine when connected to charger, I would be happy to change the MacOS on this machine if necessary (not sure which version it currently runs) I suppose the worst case scenario would be to just sell on the card at about the same price, then think again about the VHS transfer. All input welcome. |
