Is this crosstalk on my Panasonic DMR?

Hello, I've been experiencing some weird artifacts on the S-Video output of my Panasonic DMR, specifically the ES45v. Before using S-Video I was using the component out of this DMR into a component adapter. I had noticed that for a while I had left this component cable unconnected for a while, and so I was wondering if this could've been causing issues with my s-video output. I connected the component cable back into that adapter, and those artifacts are still there, but less.

I was hoping if someone could help diagnose this issue for me, or tell me exactly what it is. I can also confirm that the device connected via S-Video doesn't matter, I used several (Elgato, S-Video tp HDMI adapters, ATI 600, etc.)

Additionally, I forgot to mention, when rewinding these artifacts are markedly worse. Not sure if this helps further diagnose the issue.

Apologies for the bump, I've more or less solved this. I've read a lot online and saw a neat workaround people have used that works like magic. Squashing the video to 360x480 and then stretching it back again to 720x480. Not perfect, but removes like 90% of it.

It's basically horizontal blurring, it can be done better in software if I remember correctly, You are essentially throwing half of the horizontal resolution away.

Is there a program or workflow you'd recommend to deal with this issue? I saw that some people have used avisynth for this. Unfortunately I guess it's not an issue for those with S-VHS players, but sadly I'm not able to use one. I'm using composite into the DMR and s-video out which is the best I can do right now sadly. The problem seems to be pretty random, and more in highly saturated areas regardless of capture card. Not sure if the comb filter on my device has gone bad as well.

I could play through the DMR's deck itself, but it has pretty high noise reduction that's always on. The image is significantly softer and less detailed.
