JVC SR-MV50 TBC spots, anomalies?
1 Attachment(s)
I have a few tapes that in some spots create a weird anomaly during capture. it only occurs with the TBC on, off it disappears but then you lose the benefits in the rest of the picture. I haven't tried running it through QTGMC yet, but I was curious if anyone had thoughts on if these sections of tape exceeded the limitations of the TBC in this unit or maybe bad spots in the tapes. worth noting though is ALWAYS in the same area at the top and the same size and shape.

That's called flagging, Aging of tapes cause line TBC to go nuts, Sometimes engaging manual tracking and tweaking it reduces the artifact, Some Panasonic DVD recorders are known for resolving that issue.

Thanks latreche. I've been in the hunt for one of those recorders for a while. It's odd that only certain scenes if you will on the tape have the error. It's as if a certain noise on that edit or recording trips it. the next scene or dub is perfect. Thanks for the info.
