Proc Amps and Detailers PAL Compatible
Hello All,
Just wanted to ask if anyone knows if these Proc amps and detailers are compatible with PAL signals BVP-4, BVP-4 Plus SignVideo Vidicraft Sima SCC Or if anyone can recommend a PAL Proc amp or detailer Thanks |
A few years back (2007), I did some tests on my equipment.
The PAL signal is a true PAL signal, played out from a JVC HR-S7965EK S-VHS VCR, as produced for the European market and manufactured in Germany. The power supply inside these machines is switchable, so I merely need a power cord shape adapter, and it works fine in the USA. The signal was viewed on an ATI All In Wonder Radeon AGP 7200 card, via s-video connections. Only s-video was attempted, not composite. Mostly because the VCR only has s-video and SCART, no composite or USA-compatible coax.
And there you go. :) From what I've heard from SignVideo, the current model PA-100 does NOT work with PAL. However, some older models did. There's a member currently looking for one in the Marketplace forum: http://www.digitalFAQ.com/forum/show...-pal-2485.html |
I've run into some Elite Video BVP4+ units that did NOT work with PAL. I've had multiple BVP4+ units in service in the past, and although all of the boxes had "NTSC" stickers inside, on the mainboards, some worked with PAL whilst others did not. I did not see a pattern as to why one unit could pass PAL and the other could not.
So that's something to be aware of, too. :) |
I can verify that both my Vidicraft Proc Amp and Vidicraft Detailer III work with a PAL (europe) signal.
And also my RCA DRC8335 works with a PAL composite input and provides a nice PAL svideo output in pass-thru! |

Hmm.... I may have to see if that works on a DRC-8030N. Never thought to try. :o |
