Do ATI All In Wonder cards or ATI TV 600/650 cards capture both PAL and NTSC video?
I've been asked this question several times recently, so I wanted to post about it.
ATI All In Wonder cards: - PAL MPEG: Yes! Use ATI MMC - PAL AVI: Yes! Use ATI MMC or VirtualDub. Other programs may work, too -- but MMC + VDub are most suggested. - NTSC MPEG: Yes! Use ATI MMC - NTSC AVI: Yes! Use ATI MMC or VirtualDub. Other programs may work, too -- but MMC + VDub are most suggested. The ATI All In Wonder cards also under SECAM, PAL-M and several other exotic analog formats. Note that only PAL or NTSC output can be created, as all color is modulated YUV data for digital video, with appropriate frame sizes (resolution) and frames-per-second (29.97fps, 25fps). ATI TV Wonder 600 and 650 cards: - PAL MPEG: No! - PAL AVI: Yes! Use VirtualDub. I've tested other programs, and all of them fail to function. - NTSC MPEG: Yes! Use ATI CMC - NTSC AVI: Yes! Use VirtualDub. I've tested other programs, and all of them fail to function. ______ Guides for ATI All In Wonder capturing have been on this site for about 9 years now. - Capture AVI with ATI All In Wonder Radeon video capture cards - Capture MPEG with ATI All In Wonder Radeon video capture cards Guides for the ATI 600/650 series cards are finished, and awaiting publication on the new site. - Will update this post with links, when guides go live. ______ That is all. :) |
