Strange JVC SR-VS20U menu problem
 

i just picked up a SR-VS20U and am having a weird issue. the menu was working just fine. i was fiddling with the OUTPUT1 and the menu disappeared and wont come back. i tried 2 different remotes and even unplugged the unit for a half hour.
zero menu.

both the DV and SVHS decks playback just fine and the remote works for other functions. what is going on here??

OK - i figured it out.
switching from the auto setting on output1 makes the menu only work on output2
