Sony SLV-RX9 VCR inputs? Can anyone read Japanese?

This picture is of the back of a Japanese market Sony S-VHS VCR.
Can anyone tell me what the 5 black RCA jacks are for?

入力 = input
出力 = output

NOTE: If you cannot see Japanese characters, then you need to install Japanese fonts on your system.
The Microsoft.com knowledge base has this process well-documented.

Just don't ask me to translate any essays. ;)

But I'm not yet entirely sure what's being input/output. The black-on-white text is really hard to see.
Do you happen to have a larger resolution image?

I'm almost thinking this is in/out for an external genlock. .... Edit: It's for the TV tuner.
AFC = automatic frequency control, a circuit built into some VCRs and TVs to automatically lock onto an incoming channel.

after some more digging (using google translate)
i found this:

Detection input - Pin Jack 75Ω 0.67Vp-p
Detector output - Pin Jack 75Ω 0.67Vp-p
Bit stream input - Pin Jack 75Ω 0.5Vp-p
Bit stream output - Pin Jack 75Ω 0.5Vp-p
AFC input - Pin Jack 75Ω

those must be the 5 jacks, but what are bit stream & detector for?

that is the only pic i could find
i just blew it up a little with Corel Paintshop but it is still hard to read

Bitstream would imply digital audio connections. What model VCR is this supposed to be?
I'm still thinking it's for genlock, or some kind of external filtering i/o. Possibly MPEG encoding? .... Edit: It's for the TV tuner.

Keep in mind that some Japanese market SVHS VCRs can do digital audio tracks so that could be SPDIF I/O.

Speaking of Japan, I came across this sweet looking Panasonic DVHS unit, the NV-DHE20. Comes with TBC and DNR. I wonder how it performs compared to the JVC units.

Problem is getting stuff from Japan is a bit of a pain, and the strong Yen makes for high prices.

Those extra RCA jacks are likely for "BS" digital tuning input/output.

Those five input/output connections are for the BS tuner.

Unlike the closed systems available in North America (Dish Network, DirecTV, Bellvue, etc), the rest of the world operates on a fairly open DVB standard. You can directly access, record and play video with DVB hardware. Some is even free! This is similar to DVD recorders that have ATSC tuners, and can record/view HD video (as SD, of course).

In other words, it's a feature you probably can't use even if you wanted to.

awesome - thank you
so it probably isnt anything useful for capturing -
although im wondering if the "3 dimensional digital noise reduction" is a TBC
