ATI All In Wonder 9800 Pro power rating in watts?
 

Does anybody have any idea how much power these cards draw in watts?

PCI and AGP slots are rated in volts. And there's probably a max wattage that can be discerned from the volts. The motherboard box and/or manual probably has more information.

I looked through my ATI AIW 9200 card book, and don't see any power rating information. I do see the CE compliance information, but nothing there gives a clue on actual power drawn by the card.

I'd guess that it's between 150W and 200W usage during peak usage or graphics and/or video capture.

That seems very high as many high end gaming pci express cards don't even use that much power.

Lower power consumption was one of the developments of PCI Express.
AGP or PCI are older technology, and drew more power.

It is what it is. I need the tool, and there's not much I can do about power aside from provide it.

That is strange as I thought PCI express was more power hungry? See this link:

Also I thought the four extra pins (on power supply to motherboard plugs 20+4 compared to the older 20 pin plugs) were added to improve reliability of power delivered to the PCIe x16 slot(s)

There are limits to the power that an AGP slot can provide. If the card doesn't require any additional power connections, its not a big user of power. Newer, high end cards use quite a bit of juice, but only under load. Thats why they have coolers that take two slots with temperature controlled fans.

Disregard my earlier posts. The chart I posted earlier was for PCI Express cards, not AGP. Oops. I've gone back a striked out that info.
I really have no idea what the power consumption is.

This is something I've never needed to know, and in 10 years of helping others online with ATI cards, you're the first to ever ask.
For me, power draw from the hard drives and optical burner drives was always the biggest issue in the past decade. Still is.

What is the purpose for knowing this, exactly? I'm curious. :)
