JVC DR-M10SUJ recorder comes as Region 1?
 

i just got a brand new in the box dr-m10s for $88 shipped

when i was unpacking it i was quite surprised to see a European 2 pin plug.
looking on the back i see the model is DR-M10SUJ (i bought is as a DR-M10S).
the manual says region codes 1 and ALL.
it came with a simple euro to US plug adapter.
a sticker on the box says it was originally shipped to a store in Germany.

why would a dvd recorder sent to Germany be region code 1?
why would it have a europlug but then have a U and J in the suffix?

That unit likely was originally destined for a US Military PX store in Germany.
