Component Video [Out] to S-Video [In]
What are the issues with going from component video out to S-Video in?
I've read that component to S-Video WILL require active circuitry to demodulate the chroma signal to Cr and Cb signals. It's for this reason I believe there are no adapters? Same for component to s-video. Are there any devices that I can buy that does this? Pitfalls? Thoughts? I have a device that has component out, but I only have S-Video in. So...hmmmm. :hmm: Also, what about the video degradation from going to component out to S-Video? Is there any? |
The JVC DR-M10 DVD recorder has s-video in, but component out. And that's how I use it. :)

What device do you have that is component out only? Typically that is HD stuff or something like Betacam SP. If so, component capture cards exist.

if you want to capture component - just get a component capture card like NJroadfan suggested.
the Huappauge HD-PVR is one alot of people use. there are a few DVD recorders with component in (mostly older phillips) - but they are not that great |
