Best Capture Devices for VHS to DVD

Ok Gang,

This a general survey on a previously mentioned project. I am simply looking for a ranking on the following capture devices with one being the best. I'm using Win 7 32 bit. An available pcie and older pci slot, and usb 2.0 ports. Mind you I have virtual dub and enosoft dv for capture software so I'm just interested in the hardware. I'm capturing VHS and want to do it lossless and then edit and author.

USB
ATI 600 usb
ADS Tech DVD usb
Encore ENUTV usb
AverTV Volar HD usb

PCI

Aver EZDVD Maker
Hauppage Win PVR
ATI AIW 650 hd
ATI 7500 AIW VE

I already own a Canopus 110 and I have 100gb of space and have to edit 30 mins of video.
I am looking for a happy medium between quality and convenience.
Thanks!!

An ATI AIW card can be installed and used on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system. I've done it. The problem is that I'm not able to consistently re-create the experience. I'm very, very close to solving this.

Aside from that, the ATI 600 is your best chance at quality lossless AVI capturing.

It seems that I am leaning towards a USB solution instead such as the ATI 600. Do you know of any PCI or AGP cards that are video cards (with on-board memory) that can also capture video? This is in case I can set up a capture system on an XP rig.

PM him a link to this thread, and ask that he reply here (not PM). :wink2:

i use an XP setup with a AIW9200 AGP card currently
if you want regular PCI with XP the 7500 VE AIW is an option
all the AIW cards double as your graphics card and have there own memory
if you are staying with 7 the 600usb is your best bet
if LS solves the AIW to windows 7 thing that will be really awesome
