Panasonic can finalize JVC discs

Supposedly, it's being reported that people who own a Panasonic ES10 DVD recorder are able to finalize JVC DVD recorder discs, and you'll get Panasonic menus in the process.

So if you have JVC finalizing trouble, or prefer Panasonic menus, there you go.

I should send you 3-4 DVDs I cant get to finalize ha ha ha. I wonder why that is

I know it wont work with JVC and ILO, already tried it but then again on an RW the ILO does not need finalizing so it was probably pointless to attempt [:p]

Mail them here.

Has anyone actually Finalized DVD’s that were created on a JVC DR-MXIS on JVC DR-M10?

I've done this several times, yes. But it can be hit-or-miss.
It's sometimes better to just find somebody with a machine and pay them a small fee to do it. We've done that for customers in the past.

Thank you very much for your reply and I hope you are making much progress with your recovery.
Thank you also for your experienced comments and I would like very much to contact anyone that can Finalize DVD's that were created on a JVC DR-MX!S. I have tried to get contacts from JVC and the company from whom I bought the recorder but both are reluctant to point me to others that can Finalize my DVD's.
Thank you again for your help.

Since that's an LSI chipset model of JVC recorder, any LSI JVC will work:
- DR-M10
- DR-M100
- DR-MV1
- DR-MV5
- DR-MH300
- DR-MH30

and there's several more. I don't remember them all, but those are the common models.
I routinely finalize discs from the DR-M10 on a DR-M100.

Thank you for this abundant list that will enable me to rescue my DVD's. I will be searching for any of the Recorders that are available. As I approach 84 years I have to admit that in my long career in Electronics "not Finalizing my DVD's" was one of my worst mistake. I had too much confidence that JVC would continue its business with Recorders.
Thank you again for sharing your experience and this valuable information.

Does the JVC DR-MV150B DVD Recorder/ VHS Combo W/ Digital Tuner fall in the group that will Finalize DVD's created on the JVC DR- MX1S?
Thank you,
Judson

volksjager 07-26-2013 02:08 PM

i dont think the DR-MV150 has the LSI chipset
the decks that KPMedia listed all do

the later JVC dvd recorders are not good

i avoid combo decks too - they are not as reliable and the VCR sides are crappy anyway
find a DR-M10 or DR-M100

lordsmurf 07-26-2013 02:52 PM

No.
The JVC DR-MV150B is not an LSI Logic chipset DVD recorder.
