Audio static with Mitsubishi HS-HD2000U VCR?
 

Recently, when I play VHS tapes on my Mitsubishi HS-HD2000U VCR, the VCR acquires this audio static sound. I've been thinking about cleaning the heads on the VCR using a foam swab and I've never cleaned my VCR heads before. Would that help or would it just make things worse?

lordsmurf, you helped me with the last issue I was having, I was wondering if maybe you could help me with this one?

- Head cleaning usually won't help here.
- Did you read the guides here for proper cleaning of VCR heads?
- Is it just a specific tape, or all tapes? (including past ones played on the deck, which were fine at the time)

I did read the guides for proper cleaning of heads. And it happens with multiple tapes. Anything else I can do to help this?

to be specific, it has happened to probably every tape I've tried recently.

Does anybody else have any suggestions?
