Bought a Sony SL-HF900 with tape eject problems?
 

Bought a Sony SL-HF900 with a tape eject problem for $40 ... The couple said it worked great until it stopped ejecting tapes. Here is a video I took of it turning on and me hitting the eject button. Also when turned on should their be a menu like a VHS on screen?

The gear looks to be mechanically okay, but I could be wrong.

To fix this loading problem I have replaced one or two of the loading gears on the right side of the tape loading mechanism in the SL-HF900 and one of my other models. Each time it had one or more broken teeth. I need to fix that problem in my EDV-9500. Make sure you consult the repair manual to get the gears installed back in the correct alignment!! The parts I used were 3-684-163-01 (gear, driving arm)/x-3684-123-1(gear assy, driving) and might also fit SL-HF600/900/1000 and possibly EDV-9500. Check your shop manual as there could have been revisions.
