Sony GV-D800 transfer to PC

Hey all, purchased a Sony GV-D800 to transfer all my 8 tapes to PC for rendering to MP4 files. Tried to capture on my Sony Vegas edit system but the capture would not recognize the deck, although it recognized our DV Cam deck. The dv out of the D 800 deck transfered video to the dv deck via firewire, so I know the dv out works. Has anyone had experience with capturing dv file from the D800? Thanks!

What OS and IEEE1394 device are you using?

FWIW, I can capture via IEEE1394 from my GV-D200 (the D800's little sister - no screen) on:
ASRock Z370 Extreme4 with Win 10, i7-8700K and a TI-based IEEE1394 card.
ASRock Z97 Extreme6 with Win 7, i7-4790K and the TI-based IEEE1394 card.
ASRock x58 Extreme6 with Win 7 i7-950 and native MB's firewire port.

In all cases I was using EDIUS NLE as the capture program.

Two factors I've encountered:
- I installed the "Legacy" IEEE1394 driver (comes as an optional driver with Win7, must be d/l for WIN 8 & 10). (The driver Windows 7 and above install by default is problematic for many video sources.)
- The capture program was configured to expect a SD DV video stream from the IEEE1394 port.

(Also, In the case of capture from a Canon Vixia HV40 HDV camcorder I had to configure the camcorder to output a SD DV stream.)
