JVC HR-S7900U - Is there a problem with this spring?

I have a JVC HR-S7900U and I opened it up to look at something else, but I noticed this spring that doesn't look right to me. What do you all think? All normal functions appear to work properly to me.

By the way, does anyone know of the location of a technician's repair manual for this model?

Thank you!

That's funny because I thought the exact same thing when I first popped open my JVC HR-S9800U. So just in case anyone else comes across this thread, I can confirm that the spring is perfectly normal and that's how it's supposed to look. I 've got two JVC units here (HR-S7600U & HR-S9800U) and the spring looks exactly like that in both of my units.

That's a cheesy way for JVC to regulate the spring tension by leaving off some a certain number of coils, I actually took mine out and made a hook out of the coil that was hooked on there and cut off the rest of the spring that was sticking out.
