Digitalizing VHS tapes using NRS50 Snell & Wilcox?

Hello,

I work for an association which has rare and valuable archive VHS tapes which are getting old and need to be digitalised urgently. We are aiming for the topmost quality !

We have a Snell & Wilcox NRS50 which we think is a high quality processor and can be used for that purpose. It provides a Serial D1 output

Can anyone advise us on the following topics :
1) which cards can be used to receive the Serial D1 on a Windows 10 computer
2) which software can be used for acquiring the signal and generating the video files ?

Sorry if this is a trifle to you, I am a newbie !

Thank you in advance :)

Welcome. :)

So have you started on the road to capture, or have you found that the S%W hardware isn't really what it's cracked up to be? I've never been overly fond of S&W gear, preferring others like DataVideo. And for NR specifically, you're often better off with software for some errors. It really depends on what you're working with here. The post you gave was a bit vague.

SDI can also be overkill. Again, depends on sources. If VHS, then yes, overkill.

Windows 10 makes video capture even more infuriating, as Windows is now just an OS for tablets to use Facebook it seems.

Also attached is the PDF for that device, should you need it.
