Dropped/inserted frames?

1 Attachment(s)
My captures show 0 frames dropped, 0 frames inserted, but then I get things like this happening.

It was fine for like an hour, and then that really bad stretch showed up. It's happened in a couple of other tapes as well. The original tape is fine, as I have a different capture that doesn't show the issue.

I see it. :hmm:

We just need to review your entire workflow again.
Describe your chain, all hardware (video and computer), software, etc.
Start there.

It's happened with both a Panasonic NV-HS1000 and a SR-S388E connected to a Panasonic ES10. Through a USB-Live2, into AmarecTV on a Windows 10 laptop, captured onto a RAID0 via USB3.

The VCR is probably not it, and existing on two different decks eliminates those.

Remember, and ES10 is not a TBC. Perhaps it's interacting poorly with your tapes? Try to bypass it.
You do have a TBC, right?

Capture card possible.
Amarec is not as tried and tested as VirtualDub, so I'd suspect it as well.

RAID-0 can cause issues with video, and I said that over 15 years ago. I saw issues as far back as 2001. However, less likely here, due to frame duping.

Windows 10 is a mongrel, but again unlikely here.

Time for process of elimination. ES10 is main suspect for the moment.

Oops, forgot about that. There's a TBC-1000 before the capture device.

I used the ES10 because the picture was tearing when using the built-in TBC on the JVC and Philips decks. I didn't use the ES10 when capturing from the Panasonic deck, I realise now my phrasing was ambiguous on that point.

VDub doesn't work at all, which is why I used Amarec. Can't remember what the issue was offhand but I probably posted about it on here.

EDIT: Pretty sure this issue was what led to me dropping VDub: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...ive2-proc.html

It's also not a constant thing, this seems to be the only time in the entire 1:45 tape that it happens.
