Recording image issues VCR to laptop, Easycap?
2 Attachment(s)
Hello,
I recently started to digitalize our home videos. Next fase will be the VHS tapes. I'm using an "EasyCAP" video grabber and i've connected it via tulip and an output scart (cable no longer than 2meters). It connects and I'm getting image and sound but it's of very bad quality. Attached are two image examples. The first when it's only connected. The second you can see the poor imagery. I could not make a "printscreen". When trying the distortion lines and purple background disappeared... I tried different tapes and already tried to fast forward and rewind the tape before recording. Any suggestions or tips are welcome. |
EZcap/Easycap (infamously known as "easycrap") devices are known for lousy capture quality, and all sorts of various issues. Your issue may be drivers related, or the Easycap can't handle the incoming signal. Either way, the cheap card is at fault.
It doesn't help that you're using the included junk software, and not VirtualDub. The ATI 600 USB is far better as a card. But the VCR also matters. |
