HuffYUV encoded videos cannot be played?
Hello again. After getting a new computer, I decided to install VirtualDub and HuffYUV codec again on my Windows 11 PC. After capturing some VHS footage, I tried to preview the captured video on both Microsoft's Film's & TV video player and VLC but were unable to play it.
I installed both 32-bit and 64-bit HuffYUV codec same as I did before on my Windows 10 different and did shown on the compression setting on VirtualDub. VLC show the following error code: VLC could not decode the format "HFYU" (Huff YUV Video) Film's & TV video player show the following error code: This item was encoded in a format that's not supported. 0xc00d5212 On top of that, loading the video file onto my PowerDirector software crashes it. I even tried playing the video on MPC-HC player which crashes as well. On top of that, loading Quick Access crashes Windows file explorer if the video file is listed on last 20 recent files I clicked on. I tried looking on Google and on here and I keep getting the same 4-5 forum posts, none of which solved the problem. Could it be that the codec is simply too old to run on modern systems? |
I think it working on VLC now. For some reason it fixed itself. I do however have another problem which I'm going to post on the Restore, Filter, Improve Quality section.
