Trouble opening Mainconcept file

Can someone assist me with which folder I need to open to run this thing? I've downloaded the zip, which brings about 98,000 files and I've clicked on a few .exe files with no success.

All help is appreciated. Thanks.

There should be an installer -- typically setup.exe.

The file consists of a bin and doc folder. There is no setup.exe nor any other installer included that I'm aware of. Should I go to bin or doc?

Did you figure this out yet?

You may need/want to contact MainConcept support. Are you using Mac OS X version, or the Windows version?

To install MainConcept Reference, you use an installer.
Reference is the "master" program, while each codec gives Reference abilities.

It's honestly been so long since I bought Reference that I've forgotten what you get when the codecs are purchased. Everything appears in the plugins folder.

I'm using Windows 32 bit system. No I didn't figure it out yet. I'd like to contact them, but it's sad that the process to download a trial version of an encoder is so arrogantly and pretentiously engineered, that instead of simply making an .exe file available to run it, I'd have to contact customer diservice to receive further mystified guru responses that have nothing to do with my question. Is this just not something someone here can direct me with?

I mean, I'm sure it's top notch stuff this 'reference mainconcept' life-changing encoder. But is it THAT serious?

So I guess that's that, huh

I'm still looking into it.

Oh ok. Thanks. I know some things slip through the cracks here, as in any other forum, so thanks.

My only guess is that you have the wrong installer, an incomplete installer, or the wrong set of MainConcept files. The codecs instead of the actual Reference program, for example. Maybe the Mac version instead of the Windows install. AT this point, I'd suggest contacting MainConcept and asking for support.
