1080/50p source - what Blu-ray output?
So I have some video that have recorded at 1080/50p on my JVC camcorder that I want to encode using TMPGenc Video Mastering Works 5 and then author in Encore to Blu-ray disc.
Because Blu-ray doesn't support 1920x1080 50fps progressive, I'm not sure what settings to use in TMPGenc. Do I select 1920x1080, interlace and 25fps? Or am I better of with 1280x720, progressive and 50fps? |
TMPGEnc doesn't interlace well and wasn't really designed for that kind of work. Better to re-encode the 1920x1080/50p as 1280x720/50p, which is BluRay compatible.

Thanks for the response. So, in future am I better off recording @ 1080/50i?

If you want authentic BluRay, yes. Also, a lot of players and devices will choke on 1080/p50.
