I've not used HCEnc in years, preferring Avidemux and MainConcept Reference. I always felt that encodes like that were tweaked for the best-case sources, meaning DVD rips from downloads. To me, the test of an MPEG encoder was how well it could encode a horrible source. That's where MainConcept and Procoder really shined.

I have not said that you should use the programme.
I work, actually, only with the Procoder V.3.

Yes... also I work with AviDemux and have for special reasons beside the new version still the old 2.5 [32 bits of version]

By the way, Mainconcept Reference has become outdated a little bit.
