Chroma shift in VirtualDub?
2 Attachment(s)
I ran a test with a test chart graphic in Virtualdub. I output it using Lagarith as an avi. I placed the render back into Virtualdub and rendered it again. I did this 5x. The luminance looks pretty good, but the chroma shifts left with every render.
Is this normal? Is there a correction filter? Is this because of 4.2.2 rather that 4.4.4? I did the same test in Vegas Pro and it shifted more. |
It's probably due to multiple 4:2:2 -> RGB -> 4:2:2 conversions. There's a reason we always try to process video natively. :)
You shouldn't be seeing this if you used Fast Recompress mode though. |
In VirtualDub, be sure to change input and output decode modes to YUY2.
Video > Color Dept, or Video > Decode Format |
I never noticed that was even an option! :cool2:
