Ok so I've finally got all my equipment from ebay, mitsu hd-2000, i.den ivt-7, panasonic dmr-es10 (for filtering) and jvc dr m100. My questions are, is there a specific order to hook the i.den and panasonic up in, can I use only 1 set of RCA for the sound or do I need to go through all the components and lastly what's the best way to make sure the filtering in the es10 and ivt-7 are working?

Thanks in advance.

D-VHS > Panasonic ES10 (ONLY WHEN NEEDED!) > TBC > JVC DVD recorder

Use s-video all the way. No composite. JVC component to tv is okay

Only use Panasonic when needed. It will posterize and ghost-trail good video. It leaves problems, but it also fixes some. The problems it leaves are not as bad as the ones it fixes.

TBC filters signal, not image quality.
Panasonic filters image quality. A tape with unstable timebase (squiggles) is a good way to test the sync filters in the ES10. I have such tapes for myself, maybe you've got some too.

Thanks Lordsmurf, one thing I wasn't clear on, the RCA I mentioned was just for the sound, can I use a single pair or should I run the s-video and 2 rca's to each component.

Audio from D-VHS to DVD recorder, skip others. Red/white RCA audio cables. Someday, you might even chose to add a hardware audio filter. I don't have one myself, but have thought about it (dehiss on the fly).

That would be nice, the hiss always bothered me, especially when doing what I am with the JBB material, it's really noticeable when the movie audio is so clean and the host segments are full of hiss.

Thanks as always lordsmurf, most helpful.
