VHS Capture, Halo effect correction?

Hello,

I am capturing VHS tapes and am using hybrid to deinterlace through Avisynth at medium with Bob at TFF, CRF18, 4:2:2 and 720x480 (working on some upscaling for viewing on TV's)
Now i am mostly putting these on flash drives to share with family and have noticed while looking over my H.264 exports (testing avi vs mp4 h.264) that there is some halo effect happening along with some other things and just wondering if anyone knew a good place to start (in hybrid) before I start testing all these different filters.

Thank you

The highlights look overexposed/overcooked. It could be how it was shot, or a level problem in the transfer, or some of both.
