VirtualDub filters to remove line of fuzz on video?

Hello,
I have an old episode of NOVA that I ripped from a vhs tape (no longer have the vhs tape). I'm testing out virtualdub and some filters to clean up the video. The video isn't that rough (for its age) but there is just this fine "line of fuzz" on the bottom of the picture that I can't manage to filter out. I tried to use manual tracking with the vhs tape but it still wouldn't go away. Is it even possible with virtualdub to filter that out? or should I use avisynth? I have included a screencap so you can see what I'm dealing with. |
I've seen worse and it's normal to have that "line of fuzz" at the bottom . The only option is to crop and add black borders. You crop about 8 lines and you add borders 4 top - 4 bottom.
If you want more help to clean the whole frames post a video sample. I can see chroma noise green/pink horizontal lines good luck |
Take a look at this post: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/vide...converted.html
While there are some methods to truly remove that noise, instead of just mask it, there are side effects that can lower the quality of the interior image. So it's still best to mask. |

I apologize for the double post but i have a 10 second clip of the actual episode versus the intro which is what is above

For both clips you can try this script which gives you this
After that or perhaps before you may want to deshake this video a little (vdub's deshacker comes to mind)..i haven't bothered |
