Which TBC alternative for DataVideo TBC-1000?

Hi guys,
As from title which tbc can stand in for the Datavideo tbc-1000 that is discontinued?

I could find very very few Datavideo Tbc-1000 and even in some online shop that not sell outside US

I even search for the Avt but I read here it's worse than tbc-1000

Thanks

I wrote that my AVT-8710 is not working properly.
That's just my opinion .... other users may have different experiences.

Thanks, as I'm searching the tbc-1000 but it's quite difficult to find outside Us

What is Tbc-E of electronic Design?

Why do you use a Dmr instead of write a dvd directly from PC?

There's nothing wrong with a properly functioning AVT-8710 TBC.

We have a few extra for sale, but the power plug is for USA, and I see* that you're in Europe.

But I read in one of your guide that the Avt-8710 was lower level of tbc-1000 and has some heat problem, isn't it?

It could be Perfect the tbc-100 so I could put directly into the PC but that is absolutely impossible to find

The TBC-100 and TBC-1000 overheat, too. These were never meant to be 24/7 rackmount gear. And the VCR will overheat around the same time anyway. Overheated VCRs can ruin tapes. You can go 6 hours, maybe 8, in a given day. Anything beyond that is asking for problems, and tempting fate. If you need to go longer, you need two setups that can be alternates (like I have).

Ah ok, the system will be for my personal vhs tapes and I Will do one by one so I don't think I will reach that long time work!

Anyway I would like the best possible quality

In europe I could find only a tbc-1000 ex demo at 250€, would it be good?

Right now, 250.00 GBP = 366.815 USD

At the end-of-life (EOL) of the TBC-1000, it was selling for $400-450 USD. I had been $299 new in the early 2000s (when I last bought one new).

It still sells online for $250-300 used -- when you can actually find one, as they are getting rarer. At some point, I almost expect for used units to fetch $400-500. That often happens in the world of cameras, when you comes across truly stellar gear that is no longer made. Price actually goes up, not down.

So the price is probably accurate.

It's 250 euros not pounds so it's about 250 USD

I read about the mod needed, is it difficult to make?

lordsmurf 01-05-2016 07:58 AM

250.00 EUR = 268.754 USD, so that's even better.

The mod is not often required. Test the unit, see if it's fine as-is. It mostly applies to unit that make the image softer, or add noise, and it's the fault of the married VP-299. The VP-299 is itself fine, but can vary from copy to copy, like anything else. All you do is bypass it. I've never had to do it, but other members here have done it.

With the mod will the VP-299 be disabled? Isn't it useful?

lordsmurf 01-05-2016 08:15 AM

VP-299 is the distro amp. That's why the TBC-1000 has one input, and 4 output.
It's a TBC-100 + VP-299 in one.

Luca T 01-05-2016 08:26 AM

I'm waiting an answer from two US online shop that shows the Tbc-100 on stock to know if it is really available, if it is not I will proceed for the demo tbc-1000
