Can I save this tape by combining two captures?

Still practicing with my capture setup; tried working on tape #2 of that "100 Greatest Cartoons" tape set. That's the one where, on the first tape, the Panasonic AG-1980 had tracking line issues which wouldn't go away, but the Mitsubishi captured well.

On the second tape, though, things didn't work as well. This time, the Mitsubishi had significant distortion at the very top of the frame. Turning the TBC on and off changed the direction of the distortion, but the distortion remained either way. With its TBC on the Panasonic did a very good job of correcting the distortion, but the tracking line problem remains.

I was struck by the thought that I might be able to repair this capture by taking most of the field from the Mitsubishi, and then replacing the top 80 lines or so with the capture from the Panasonic. However, I'm not familiar enough with the software to know how to do that (yet!). Is this feasible? And is there a way to blur the transition so that it's less obvious?

Thanks for any help.

Edit To Add: Capture setup for the attachment is from each VCR through S-Video to TBC-1000 and then through S-Video to Tevion USB capture card to Windows XP Dell. Captured lossless with VDub/HuffyUV; transferred to Windows 10 machine for editing and titles with Corel VideoStudio 2018 and rendered to mp4 at 2.5 Mbps (720x480).
