VHS audio issue
 

I capped a few hours off of a tape and the sound in the clip is throughout the entire length. What is the issue and can it be fixed?

Use audacity noise reduction filter (free), take a sample of the noise first then use with those parameters (feel free to tweak all that): noise reduction: 14db, sensitivity: 3.50, frequency smoothing: 0

You will also have to equalize the sound after that because it's very muffled, the noise residue is located somewhere around 6000 hz so careful around here
