Virtualdub2 batch wizard save to other than .avi?

I am adding a bunch of AviSynth scripts to the Virtualdub2 batch wizard, but the only format option to save is avi. Is there a way to get it to give me the option to save to other file formats such as .mov file? So far the only way I’ve seen to do this is to manually add the first script, configure it including choosing .mov to save the file and then add it to the job que. Then when I open the batch wizard to add the rest of the scripts all at the same time, it shows save as mov instead of avi. I’d like the wizard to give me the format options right away without having to configure the first one manually.

I always do it the slow way.

- open file
- do whatever
- File > Save as
- choose a/v codec and container, name file
- tick the Add to Queue
- save
- repeat for all.
- File > Job Control
- start

I don't know that I ever used any other batch function. What do that look like?

(Then again, I've used this thing for 20+ years, I may done it before, but since forgotten. So you may be jogging my memory, not necessarily tell me something new!)

Instead of using Job Control, open the “batch wizard”. You can add multiple scripts at once and add them all to job control at once. I open VDub2, set audio and compression (without opening any file yet), then open the batch wizard. This is when I'd like to be able to change the avi file type. In the screenshot if I had already manually sent a job to the job control and chosen .mov file type, that resave as avi would have changed to resave as mov in the wizard. I’m trying to get it to give me a mov option right away.
Interestingly, the resulting avi file will have the ProRes422 compression I set, but nothing other than VDub2 can read the file.

Hi,

This is an old thread but I was in the same position: lots of videos to process from MiniDV firewire capture (multiple scenes, want to keep these segments/date/etc...). I also want to deinterlace/upscale them with QTGMC (Andrew Swan technique on Youtube) and save them to ProRes422 Quicktime for further editing on mac. One by one, this is a very long task...

Here's my workflow:
I use the Create AVS files.bat (ref: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/...-with-avisynth ) to create my script.
I drag and drop all .avi to a .bat files that refers to a master .avs with my wanted settings. It creates .avs for all segments.

Then, I first need to open a single .avs file in VirtualDub and do it the way I would want it (Full Processing mode, Compression: ProRes, etc...) and then Queue Batch Operation / Save Video : Select Quicktime mov / Add to Job Queue.

I open the Job Control, Select Batch Wizard, drag all my .avs script I want, output folder, etc., and then I should have the Add To Queue as a Quicktime MOV option instead of avi... (Check image attachement)

Hope this help!
