Hi,

first, thanks for all the knowledge in this forum :)

I just found a Thomson Scenium VSH-2080G vcr for sale for a reasonable price, but I can't find any real information about this model. The faceplate is kind of JVCish, maybe it's a rebranded JVC?

The photos are from the listing.

Thanks!
adam

It's either a JVC, Sony, or Mitsubishi rebadge. I'd bet JVC or Sony. This unit is probably fine.
I see the 2180 looks similar.

If you get it, let me know, so I can add it to the suggest VCRs list. :congrats:

The Thomson VSH 2080 G is from 1999. It is similar to the Philips VR1000 and based on the JVC HR-S7600. The unit has TBC & noise reduction.

If it's based on the HR-7600 it's got to be good, I love the design of those JVC VCR's, They are really made to be serviced quickly, I can literally take it all a part and put it together in less than 10 minutes, You can replace the entire drum assembly without re-alignment, The whole mechanism is hooked up to the chassis with snap in connectors, no wires no fuss.

Thank you guys!
If I buy it, I'll tell you, if it's any good.
