Switching from 1&1 to Namecheap eed EPP codes ?
I checked my e-mail, & name cheap wants eep codes from my domain names for the transfer to work. how do i do this?

1&1 makes domain transfers very difficult. They have a separate website just to manage domains. 1&1 also doesn't provide any way to push domains to the new provider. You have to wait the 3 (or is it 5?) days that ICANN gives for the process to automatically happen. |

Read through that to understand what's going on. You request the EPP from 1&1, through whatever control panel they have. NJRoadfan gave you the correct link. Follow those instructions, and don't be afraid to contact 1&1 support if you need help (should something not work). Outside of not waiting until the last minute (just before domain expiry), the most important two things about transfers is this: (1) You'll get a lot of emails. (2) You'll wait a lot -- a week or two in total. ... also the reason to NOT wait until just before expiry. |
