Need Singapore Hosting + any feedback on HawkHost?

I have been looking for a Singapore hosting solution, and HawkHost seems to be very reputed on WHT and elsewhere. They also have extremely budget-friendly packages, which kinda alarms me, because super-cheap hosts generally don't serve well, but they seem to be an exception.
Any feedback on HawkHost? How might they be?
Also, any options for Singapore hosting? It is a news site meant for Singapore readers and managed by Singaporeans, so location matters, apparently. Good uptime is needed, plus support for SSL for subscriptions etc.
