If the whole new DVD is going to be 8 minutes long, then you can max it out at 9800k video+audio. If the new DVD will be longer, add your minutes together, and use a bitrate calculator. This topic was recently discussed at: http://www.digitalfaq.com/forum/show...16&postcount=2 Quote:
You've picked the wrong program mode, or it has the target set to another CD/DVD drive instead of a hard drive (files or image). |

Each DVD is going to be about 3 hrs, as you suggested that I do since it's going to be such a big set. Each clip will be in between 5-45 min. long, and my original plan was to try to encode a lot of the clips 1 at a time..so, I'd just import one match into MC, encode it..do the same for another..etc.. That's what Im confused on about the bitrate.. There's going to be about 5-7 seperate clips on each dvd, imported seperately into workshop..just like the one we made together when you taught me how to use workshop, Im not sure if you remember that or not. |
If the full DVD will be about 3 hours long, then each clip will be encoded to a bitrate that will allow for 3 hours of video to fit on a disc. You already have the specs for a 3-hour disc (or you can use the aforementioned bitrate calculator to figure it out), so use those numbers.
There shouldn't be any confusion here. You're over-thinking things again. Stop it. :p |
If I'm shooting to get between let's say 5-8 or 10 matches on 1 dvd...what bitrate should I use in MC to get the max best picture I can..because I know each clip will have to be encoded with a low bitrate

bitrate x length = size of video
4.37GB = max size on a single layer DVD "good quality" = adequate amount of bits for the resolution Chart shown at bottom of http://www.digitalfaq.com/guides/vid...rd-capture.htm Input variables, solve for x There's nothing I can help with here. |
